Its a shame he isn't celebrated like other African American leaders but hey. Rest in peace Brother Minister!

My favourite things

1.  My amazing country Nigeria a.ka naija, naijizzle. It so hard explaining to non-nigerians why we love the place so much, with its sporadic power supply, incessant robberies, bad roads, corrupt leaders blah blah. The truth really is that naij is a state of mind rather than anything else. No country or group of people can match our tomorrow-go-better, go-getting, flamboyant ways. We 'feel' ourselves and won't let you forget it:).

2. Nollywood. I'm an addict. full stop.

3. Weddings. I've been obsessed ever since I was a kid.

4. Romance. I'm an incurable romantic it's almost crazy.

5. Black couples: Kelis and Nas held my number one spot cuz they made marriage seem so sexy, and it breaks my heart they've split. Abeg peeps, let's beg Kelis to go back!

6. Entrepreneurs: I respect anyone that owns their own business, whether you run a multi-million dollar company or a stall in a market. My business 'idols' are Russell Simmons and Aliko Dangote(Africa's Richest Man)

7. The number 7. Its signifies what is beautiful and complete...God made the world in 7 days.

8. Malcolm X. a.k.a El Hajj Malik El-Shabazz.  I'm not a Muslim or Nation Of Islam, but I love what he stood stood for. He was grossly misunderstood as a hate-monger but all he wanted was for African-American to love and take pride in themselves and like Bob Marley sang 'emancipate themselves from mental slavery'. I salute you Brother Minister.

9. African Literature: The very first book i read in my life from the beginning to the end without skipping pages was 'The Concubine'' by Elechi Amadi and I've been hooked since then. Although I've read it like a million times, I still take it with me when i travel. Runners up are:
'The gods are not to blame' by Ola Rotimi
'The Lion and the Jewel' By Wole Soyinka
'Joys of Motherhood' by Buchi Emecheta
'Things Fall Apart'' (Okonkwo!!) by Chinua Achebe
'Half of a yellow sun' by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

10. OBAMA! Yes we can. Honestly I don't really care about his politics. But what I love, so love is the the most powerful man in the world has a black, dark-skinned woman by his side and isn't afraid to let the whole world know how much he loves her.

11.  Natural Hair: I love my 'fro. Shout out to all the 'afro-rocking' sistas out there.

...and finally one of my favorite songs
